Please note that the wedding location is not downtown and generally not within walking distance of any hotels. However, if you are not bringing or renting a car, taxi service in Charleston is relatively inexpensive and reliable.


Several guests are staying at the Holiday Inn Historic District. This hotel is right across the street from one of Charleston's parks, and is within walking distance of all of the downtown attractions.


Right across the street from the Holiday Inn is the Francis Marion Hotel. This is an older, but remarkably elegant hotel with a lot of history.


You'll get excellent service if you want to stay downtown at the Doubletree Inns & Suites because Matron of Honor Dru Kuhns will make sure of it! (She's a manager there.)


West Ashley:


The ceremony will take place at the Legare-Waring House inside historic Charlestowne Landing Park. The park is across the Ashley river from downtown in an area of Charleston known as West Ashley (go figure).


The Holiday Inn Riverview has fantastic views of downtown proper and of the Ashley River marinas. They are just over the bridge from downtown, so the location is both quieter and a little more economically priced.


Also on the Ashley river is La Quinta Inn & Suites Riverview which is at a lovely, quiet location between downtown and the site.


The Holiday Inn Express in West Ashley that is both convenient to the wedding site and the downtown Historic District.
